Easter 2008

We have had a wonderful, but busy, Easter week. It all started with a surprise visit from Tevan's sister and her family from Dallas, Texas. We painted bird houses, had an Easter egg hunt, planted seeds in peat pellets for the garden, and decorated Easter cookies, and the girls played with their cousins. It was a lot of fun to see everyone. There were 10 out of the 13 Grandkids here from Tevan's side of the family. It was a blast.

Well, everyone left on Wednesday. So Tevan and I decided to go out and buy a laptop. It is fun to have a new computer.
On Saturday we went to a huge Easter egg hunt in Lodi. It was crazy. They had 40,000 eggs. Unfortunately, there were a ton of people too. Addie got 9 eggs and her friend did not find any so she decided to share with her. It was fun to spend time with Tevan and the girls even with the craziness.
On Sunday we went to my Grandmothers house for her famous hippy pancakes! They are a whole wheat pancake with a smoothie for a topping. We have had them on Easter morning for as long as I can remember. We had the annual tradition of the Gettys Croquet bloodbath! There is always cheating, changing of rules, whining, and fighting. It is usually the uncles who do the whining. It would not be Easter with out it.
After the blood bath we had an Easter egg hunt for the girls. Brooke snuck out during the croquet game and started to eat the candy in the eggs. She is a little stinker. After Grandma's house we went back to Galt for church. I got to be a sub for the 9 year olds. It was fun. After church we went to my in-laws and my Grandma Jean and Grandpa Bev along with Cindy and Bobby came over for a Easter feast. After all we had a wonderful Easter week.
This picture of Addie shows one of her favorite things to do. She loves to pick me flowers. I just love it. She goes out into the 40 acres and finds all sorts of wild flowers and then she will bring them to me in a basket.
