Safe and sound in California

We had short and sweet trip to Rexburg to pick up our stuff. We started out on Friday at 4:30 pm, after Tevan got home from work and took a shower and loaded the last few tidbits.

He has promised Addie to take her out to eat the little octopus at a Chinese restaurant for a few weeks now, so he bought some on Friday and brought them home for her that day. She ate more than I would have. She thought they were yummy but a little spicy. She thinks they taste like candy. Last week she ate way more sushi than I did. I think she has her Daddy's taste in food.

On the way through Reno we stopped at the beloved Cabella's. This is my Dad's favorite store. He gets the hard bound (Cabella Bible) or catalogue each year because of his loyalty to the store. Anyhow, we have never been their. Tevan fell in love with their used gun section. I saw a cute little baby boy hunting clothes their and a little hunting blanket, but I refrained from buying it. Well, we did not spend the average 4 hours that a usual customer does (according to the Sacramento Bee), but we did spend a hour there.

Tevan drove almost all of the way down with the exception of the last 1 hour stretch. We got really good gas mileage on the diesel truck and were very relieved about that.

Upon driving in to town one of our friends friends called and met us at the storage unit with his father in law and another truck. I went through the stuff and we filled the back of the other truck with DI stuff. The boys loaded the truck. It is amazing what we have replaced out here or decided we could do with out.

After the truck was loaded we went out to dinner with some other friends and their two kids. We went to Wingers. We saw some other friends at the restaurant. We left and made our way home and stopped at a motel.

The only other significant event of the trip was when the rope holding all of the other ropes and part of a tarp broke. We had to stop in the cold and wind and rearrange the tarps. That held us back for a few hours. We got home at 1:00 am this morning.

What a trip! That truck looks cool all loaded. I'm glad you are staying in Cali. Now your toes won't freeze off. :)
