Spencer and Whopping Cough...

Okay, we are tired of the Dr's. Already this week we have been 5 times, have spent about 6 hours there and we still have appointments. First of all Spencer has had a cold for the last week and a half. I took him in last Friday because I did not like the sound of the cough. I was not sure if it was in his chest or not. Luckily it was below his nasal system and above his chest. I took him in on Monday because when he would cough he would throw up because he would gag when he would cough. After he did that 3 times on Monday I took him in. He had lost a little weight, but he was still checking out to be okay.

Yesterday I woke up to the news that already 2 extended family members had been diagnosed with whooping cough. So, since we saw them just in the last few weeks, I took all three kids into the Dr's. Addie and Brookes immunization's are protecting them. But, Spencer has not had his yet. He was supposed to get it last week, but I held off because he was sick. Not that it would have done any good.

Luckily his vitals are doing okay. They sent him home and said to bring him in for any concerns I have. We got chest x-rays done. His vitals are all looking okay. He still gets overwhelmed with coughing and will throw up right after coughing. Our family is all being treated with anti-biotic because we can be carriers of the disease and not get sick from it because we had our immunization.

I guess adults can still get whopping cough because the immunizations kind of ware off in our bodies. So after this I will get a TDaP booster, just for fun.
