Currently I am working on our Garden. It is huge and we are trying to figure out what to put into it. So far we have 50 - 60 strawberry plants, 50 - 60 tomato plants, 50 - 60 bell peppers, pickling cucumbers, lemon cucumbers, basil, nasturtiums, cosmos, corn, bush beans, regular beans, squash, melons, herbs, onions, green onions, sun flowers, carrots and much much more. I am hoping to harvest them and to preserve them by canning and drying them. It will be fun!
Tevan has been helping with patent drawings and has been going to classes and working on the write up a long with working full time for the summer. He is a busy man. He has also been slaving away with me in the garden.
I have been working on the garden, have scanned hundreds of photos on Tevan side of the family; I am working on a home schooling curriculum for next year. I went to the orientation at the school the girls are supposed to go to and they do the same way of disciplining if you are not going fast enough on your work, you will get a yellow card and possibly a red card. That school policy seems to train the children like they are dogs and not lovingly teach them. To make them feel bad if they are not getting things and to put stress and pressure on them and I am not okay with that.
I had a pretty good year with Addie. She loves to read and write and to do math. We are getting together with more home schooling families around here so that will be better. They are really excited about going to the aquariums and making a family history book this year. I think we are going to do some projects on bugs, lizards, reptiles. Maybe get a lizard for a class room pet. I am looking into math u see for a math curriculum. Tevan is going to make some smaller machines and teach them about gravity and magnetic stuff.
I bought a bunch of classic books this last week at good will for 75 cents apiece. I am looking forward to reading them. Books like Ann of Green Gables, Heidi, Treasure Island, Dinatopia, Charlotte Web, and many more. I was kind of upset with myself that I have hear of these books and seen some of them as movies, but I have not read them. So I am going to change that one book at a time.
Addie has learned to ride her two wheeler. She made me pretty bracelets the other day. She is always coloring me pictures and yesterday asked me what number comes before infinity. She loves gymnastics especially the bars. She is an awesome helper with Spencer. She feels lucky when she gets to help me cook as a chore.
Brookie just informed me that she has been keeping a lizard captive in her jewelry box for 2 days. She cracks me up. I finally found her glasses hiding under Spencer's bed under one of the wheels. I came pretty close to crushing it. The other day Tevan took Addie on the bike ride on the street we live on. We live out in the country and cars can go 55 miles per hour. There is also a pretty big dip in the road right by our house where it might be hard to see Brookie. Did that stop her from trying to catch up to Tevan and Addie? No, it did not. She rode her little bike with training wheels, no helmet or shoes down past the next property which is about 1/4 mile away before Tevan heard her calling for him. She got in trouble for that one.
Spencer loves to read board books. He loves to have his shoes on. He loves Mater from Cars. He loves Thomas the train. He is turning 2 in the next few weeks. He loves to run in the sprinklers, go down slides, ride a tricycle, and things with wheels. He still is a cuddler and gets offended on Saturdays and Sundays when Tevan is home in bed with me and won't let me cuddle with him. It is pretty funny. He is pretty funny. He is speaking more and more and still has not learned to say no yet. Oh he loves showers too. He calls bananas baninna or nina. He is just a really sweet happy little guy.
That is a little glimpse into my life right now. I will see what pictures I have to post when I get the time!
