Updated picture from Playing with Grandma Jean!

A few weeks ago we went to my Grandma's house to make the best cookies in the world and to have a picnic in the park! It brought back so many memories of when my sisters and I would go there and make cookies and fight over how many turns we got on the flour sifter! Grandma always has let us eat as much cookie dough as possible. It is really hard to say what is better the dough or the actual cookie.
Here is Addie playing!
Here is brooke conquering the curved ladder. She managed by going army crawl style on the last few bars.
Here is Brooke feeding the squirrel!

A peek into our Week

This week we were busy on some of the days and lazy on the others. On Monday, Addie went to her school and took some test to see if she was ready for Kindergarten. She passed and got a bag with scissors, a pencil, and color crayons.

Oh a definate highlight was when we learned that a sister of Tevan and her family are moving to CA. Addie and a 7 year old cousin love to play. Now Brooke will have another girl cousin to play with that is her age. We are very excited about that!

On Thursday, we went to my Grandma Jeans house and made her yummy and delicious Persimmon cookies. I've been making them since I was little and it was a lot of fun to see the girls participate in things that I was so fond of as a child. That day we went to the park and had a pic nick and the girls played while my Grandma and I talked for a few hours. We really enjoyed our time with her. Later that day, the girls and I went to my moms house again! The girls played while my mom and I went to her enrichment activity.

On Friday, Tevan and I went to a surprise party for his sister. That was a blast.

On Saturday, we went over to a friends house and went swimming for the first time. It was a little chilly in the pool but the girls loved it. They played in the sand box with their cousins and played with the dogs. Then to top off the evening we had roasted marshmallows at the camp fire. It was a blast.

Today, I got to be a substitute in the nursery and Tevan got to give the Elders Quorum lesson. Luckily my job was a lot easier than his. I hear he did an excellent job. As an added bonus he let all of the Elders out early and they came and picked up their kids early out of nursery. Tevan received extra bonus points for that.

Sacramento Zoo

Today we got the privilege to go to La Bou and to the Sacramento Zoo with our Great-Grandma Jean. I decided to take Brooke there on her last legal day of being free. They have a penguin exhibit along with a frog exhibit. Another highlight was the Anteater. He came up close and personal to us. He kept circling his area for ants. We got to see a little snake eat a little mouse. That was really my first time seeing a mouse go down in real life. Grandma is an expert on flowers and Addie and her enjoyed all of the different kind of flowers there. Addie loved the extra Grandma attention. On our way back to the car the girls found a ladybug and Brooke watched that for about 5 minutes. Right now I believe she is out side capturing ladybugs by the handful. She has her special spot to find them. Addie took her first picture today.
